How to Apply for Long term care

Applying for LTC

  1. Contact the North East LHIN (Local Health Integrated Network) in your area. The North East LHIN coordinates all admissions for short stay and LTC admissions. 
  2. The North East LHIN helps you with waitlist information, and other basic information about your local LTC homes.


You can apply for short stay or LTC admissions while at home or in the hospital. In the meantime, you are welcome to book a facility tour by either telephone (705) 842 2840 or by using our online appointment section. 


The Sault Ste Marie NELHIN can be reached by telephone at (705) 840-2872 and their toll free line 1-866-906-5446.

Want to become a PSW?

 Algoma Manor in collaboration with Sault College will be offering a fully funded Personal Support Worker Program. 

Students will receive:

  • Free training (all costs covered) 
  • A two (2) year part-time employment contract
  • Flexible hours (so you can work and go to school!)
  • Training that will be delivered onsite and in-person at Algoma Manor
